KK spent the week learning about Earth Day. We created posters that told reasons why we need to take care of the Earth and how people can take action. We also tried out the painting technique, pointillism, and filled our bulletin board with art and Earth Day messages.
KK took advantage of the beautiful spring weather this week and did our independent reading outside! We're so lucky to have such a great outdoor classroom!
KK loves buddy reading at the end of each week. Students share their favorite stories from their book bags that they have been independently reading all week long.
KK is working on writing our opinions and telling why. This week we are writing about something we think is fun. We wrote a story on why recess is fun as a class.
This week, students across the school are having a career presentation during their regularly scheduled CARE Time with our school counselors. Today, Dean's mom, visited KK to teach all about her job selling escalators and elevators, as well as repair parts for them. Students really enjoyed getting to touch so many of the parts and technology used to make an elevator move and learned how safety is an important part of the job.
Students were so excited to finally design, build, and test their galimotos.
