Continents and Oceans

 This week, students learned that our planet is made up of land and water. The water are called oceans and there are 5 of them. The pieces of land are called continents and there are 7. Students enjoyed finding them using globes and maps.

Show & Tell

 Students were so excited to share their special items from home. It was a fun way to learn more about one another!

Giving Assembly

 Again the OB community came together and collected a generous amount of food and items. Thank you to all who were able to contribute! Click here for a clip of us singing our school's favorite song, "Giving Light".

STEAM Day

 The Sphero Indi's were a huge hit on STEAM Day. Students had to learn what each color pad directed the car to do and create their own path. What a fun way to learn to code and to connect it to students' prior knowledge of streetlights.

Happy Diwali!

Several KK students shared about Diwali and how their families celebrate. We learned that people wear special clothing, eat yummy treats, light diyas, and make rangolis. Our school practiced making some of our own rangolis outside.

Mobile Dairy Farm

 Hazel the cow came and showed us where our milk comes from! We also learned fun facts like cows have four stomachs and it only takes 2-3 days for the milk to get from the cow to our cafeteria!

Fall Party Fun!

Students had so much fun at our Fall Party! We made headbands, spiders, and played a fun pumpkin ball game. We ended it with spooky rice krispy ghosts and a story. Thanks to all the KK growns up who were able to make it. I appreciated how you all jumped in and helped ensure everything ran smoothly!
